Proof of Jehovah's fast moving chariot!
by Sour Grapes inat the meeting sunday, the brother giving the "public talk" (no one from the public is ever there) was talking about how the organization is moving so fast.
as proof of this he held up the new field service time slip.
yep, that was plenty of proof for me, a smaller time slip to guilt the congregation to use their tablets in service to show video's.

Good news to report: Congregations merged because lack of attendance, publishers & field service
by Khaleesi inso it's official, i am happy to report that we merged with another congregation having the same problem.
why is it good news???
because people are either waking up, fading or just not buying into this organization any longer or walking away.... i think many young ones are just not buying into it as much, i see many in the congregation i go to very depressed and some i know personally going thru major depression especially the young "sisters" in their early 20s.... .

It's sad to think of these young sisters struggling between their inner voice and youthful ambitions, and doing what they've been led to believe is the right thing to do, namely to wait and hope rather than take action. Hopefully for this younger group, they will be able to get out and recover while they still have energy and the sparkle of life hasn't been completely rubbed off.

Cue to leave
by Grey Goose injust reading a thread about one circuit saying the pubs must donate $10.. it got me thinking, that if it ever became policy to donate a % of ones income, that would be my cue to leave.
or i would kick up such a stink about it i would be kicked out.
either would be good for me.. so, is there any public policy changes which would be your cue to leave?.

I understand your reasoning but If you think about it, $10 is a percentage of your income. Not a big percentage but a percentage just the same.
What's the difference if they say that you must donate $10 or that you must donate .05% of your income? It's still a call for mandatory donating. Little by little the religion is evolving into something most JW's wouldn't have accepted had it been presented to them all at once.

I did not realize that my letter had the note of anger in it that some have expressed. My husband said it did also. I am sorry for this because I am not that sort of person
Of course not...you just needed to vent a little and so often that's exactly what this forum is for.

I understand how you'd be tempted to send that letter but since you asked, I'd advise against give them anymore ammunition against you by putting it in a letter that can be dragged out years later. I'd advise that you just address each person, if and when the situation arises and I'd factor in your annoyance about all of this and tamp whatever you say, down a bit.
If you do send a letter, (although it's a stretch) you could thank them for their well intentioned advice and tell them that you think from this point forward, it would be better if you and (husbands name) work things out between you.

....and you just know that one day they'll have a JW theme park at the new Warwick complex. They already have the rooms....all they need to do is add a few attractions....a real money maker for them. The religion is becoming more and more "American Fundamentalist" in it's ways. It seems like they're attracting the over the top emotionally shaky types who need this kind of thing to distract them from the reality that we all eventually grow old and die. -

I suspect JW.org have their fingers in the ROKU pot, hence the push for all JW's to buy that particular device.
